Paint Correction
Machine-polish the damage out, not over.
From $1,299
Paint correction is machine polishing that removes a microscopic layer of clear coat to level the damage sitting in it. Swirl marks, wash scratches, holograms from a bad buffer, water spots, and oxidation all live in that clear coat. Take the surface down flat and light reflects cleanly again — that is what people are seeing when they say a car looks wet.
This is not a glaze or a filler. Filler products hide defects with oils that wash out in a month, and the swirls come back exactly as they were. Correction removes them permanently, which is why a coating applied over corrected paint is worth the money and one applied over filled paint is not.
A one-step correction is the value choice: a single compound-and-polish pass that removes most light swirls and restores real gloss. Multi-step correction is the restoration — separate cutting and refining stages that chase deeper scratches and finish the paint as sharply as it can go.
How It Works
- 01
Decontaminate first
Nothing touches paint until it is clean. Foam, hand wash, iron remover, and clay — polishing over grit just grinds it in.
- 02
Inspect and test
We read the paint under proper light and run a test section to find the least aggressive pad and compound that clears the defects.
- 03
Cut
The correction pass levels swirls and scratches. Multi-step work repeats this with different pad and compound pairs as the defects demand.
- 04
Refine
A finishing polish removes the haze the cutting stage leaves behind. This is the step that produces the depth and clarity.
- 05
Protect
Bare corrected paint is unprotected. We finish with a sealant, or you go straight into a ceramic coating — the ideal time to apply one.

Common Questions
What is the difference between one-step and multi-step correction?+
One step is a single combined cut-and-polish pass that removes most light swirls — the best value for a daily driver. Multi-step separates cutting and refining into distinct stages to chase deeper defects and finish sharper. See our one-step vs multi-step comparison.
Will correction remove every scratch?+
No. If your fingernail catches in a scratch, it has gone through the clear coat and polishing cannot fix it — that is a paint repair. Correction fixes everything above that depth, which is most of what you see.
Is paint correction safe for my clear coat?+
Yes, when it is measured. We test panels first and use the least aggressive combination that works. Clear coat is finite, so removing the minimum is the professional standard.
Should I correct the paint before a ceramic coating?+
Yes, if there are defects. A coating seals in whatever is underneath for years. Correcting first is precisely what Levels 2 and 3 of our coating packages are built around.
Can you do paint correction at my house?+
Yes. We bring our own lighting and power. We need a level spot and, ideally, shade or a garage — direct sun makes compounds flash too fast to work properly.
